In his final season of high school basketball, Parrish Hewitt was voted all the way to Mr. Basketball Finalist in Tennessee. Ultimately, Maplewood’s Bo Hodges won the Division I Class AA Mr. Basketball. Hewitt was one of three finalists.
“I picked them because I think it is a perfect fit for me to play basketball and it is not too far from home, so family could come see my play anytime,” said Hewitt exclusively to OVCHoops.com. “Plus I know Coach JJ’s background. He is a winning coach and he loves to make young men better.”
UT Martin Assistant Coach Jermaine Johnson has attracted Memphis talents like Fatodd Lewis, Mike Fofana, and Alex Anderson to Martin, Tennessee.
Hewitt averaged over 25 ppg this season.
