Wednesday afternoon OVCHoops.com and Thomas Allen (NC) talked at length about his college basketball suitors.
Longwood and North Dakota had offered.
Friday evening Allen gained a Murray State offer.
Even before the offer Allen listed Murray State, Cincinnati, and Miami (FL) as his preferred visit destinations. Of course visit plans are tenuous for junior basketball players. It costs both money and time to pull off and time is sparse during AAU season.
Midway through second semester of his junior academic year, Allen has already taken unofficial visits to North Carolina State, Virginia Tech, and VCU.
Allen attends Garner High School, where N.C. State has massive influence. The Wolfpack are a strong contender for Allen, if indeed they eventually offer.
The speedy 6-foot-2 guard claims interest from DePaul, Virginia, Monmouth, VCU, Cincinnati, and Miami.
“He also has Creighton and Nebraska,” said Garner Road AAU Coach Dwayne West.

Projecting the Recruitment
Undoubtedly, the Racers represent Allen’s best offer on the table. With Garner Road AAU, Allen will compete all ‘summer’ on the adidas circuit. He will be visible. There will be many more mid-major offers.
Typically Murray State and VCU trounce the mid-majors in recruiting wars. Teams like Cincinnati, Virginia, Miami, Virginia Tech, and the Wolfpack carry more clout with some recruits.
