Southeast Missouri Loses Two
Wednesday, Southeast Missouri announced two players are no longer with the program.
One day after OVCHoops.com reported that Clyde Santee was not listed on the OVC Media Day roster, the university published a press release.
“We were looking forward to Clyde being a member of our basketball team,” said Head Coach Rick Ray. “Unfortunately, Clyde was unable to complete NCAA requirements necessary for a 4-2-4 transfer.”
Xavion Dillon decided to move home due to personal reasons.
“We fully understand and support Xavion’s decision to return home and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Ray.
Dillon initially signed with Southeast on Nov. 13, 2014 after spending two years at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
“I appreciate the opportunity that Southeast Missouri State provided me,” Dillon said. “I have learned so much about basketball and life from Coach Ray in my short time here. But I feel that it is in my best interest to return home and be with my family.”
Santee was a non-qualifier for UMass out of high school. He had to sit out an entire year, while enrolled as a student just to begin his college career. This could be the end of his D1 livelihood.
Both players are 6-foot-7, so their absence will be felt in the lane.
