Redhawks Target adds MVC offer

Alou Dillon (WI) picked an offer from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale today.

“Coach (Brad) Autry called and told me they heard great things about and they would be recruiting me,” said Dillon.  “Coach (Terrance) McGee came out to a game last week and he was really impressed with what he saw.”

The Southern Illinois Salukis are coaches by former Missouri State Head Coach Barry Hinson.  Coach McGee is originally from Milwaukee, so he has good connections in the region where Dillon thrives.

“I feel like they are a program on the rise,” said Dillon.  “They have started off really good.  And they might be a team that will pop up in the tournament.”

SIU is off to an 11-2 start.  As Missouri Valley Conference play nears they are tied with Evansville for first place.

You might remember that the Class of 2017 Dillon took a visit to Southeast Missouri back in October.  He is an accomplished wing from Wisconsin that can shoot facing the basket or back down the smaller defenders.  Dillon plays for the state’s premiere AAU program, Wisconsin Playground Elite.

Southeast Missouri has been on Dillon since August, according to the combo forward.  Dillon’s visit elevated the Redhawks in Dillon’s eyes.  Still, he is a long way from committing to any school.
