OVC Recruiting Nuggets
Time to talk travel plans in the OVC. Tennessee Tech is pushing for a second verbal commit of the last seven days.
Jared Sherfield is on an official visit to TTU this weekend, per sportswriter Garrett Tucker. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Alabama picked up August offers from Grambling State, Lincoln Memorial (D2) and maintains SeMo and UTEP offers.
Could Jared Sherfield supplant Garrett Golday as the most recent Golden Eagle commit?
Tennessee wants a point guard in the 2018 class. Frankly, they need one.
The only solution they have at point guard after Kajon Mack and Aleksa Jugovic graduate is Hunter Vick (kind of a combo currently) and Stephaun Adams, who appeared injury-hobbled in 2016-2017.
To that end they have offered Junior Clay, Daivien Williamson, Tionne Rollins.
Two of those three young men are on official visits at this second. Tionne Rollins is at IPFW. Tennessee Tech offered him last week.

A week ago Tennessee Tech was rattling over official visit itinerary with a 2018 PG and they pulled his scholarship offer. Details are scant, but imagine the young man’s surprise when he was packed for a weekend trip at his potential college home only to have the proverbial rug pulled out from underneath him.
The Racers are also looking for a 2018 PG. They missed on Mo Commander by offering pretty late. He selected Chattanooga earlier this month. They evaluated 2018 G Taelyr Gatlin (TN) last week.
Murray State missed on Morris Udeze (TX) this week. He will sign to Wichita State in November.
Coach Dan McHale opened up the window a little wider this week. KC Hankton (NC) earned an EKU offer to join an already formidable frontcourt of Jackson Davis and Nick Mayo next year. The 6-foot-8 wing is a lanky 185 pounds. He might play around the arc more than these two faceup fours though.
EKU offered 2019 G Dontaie Allen (KY) and 2019 PF Isaiah Cozart (KY) last week.
