Lovan Lands Offer

Wednesday afternoon Tavin Lovan gained an offer from Southeast Missouri.  The Redhawks follow Winthrop, Eastern Kentucky, Toledo, and Western Kentucky in offering the 6-foot-4 guard.

Lovan had a strong summer with The Travelers 17u.  In fact, Lovan was the only Class of 2017 player to start for the Kentucky-based AAU program.

Package Deal?

Package deals are very, very rare.  Still both Tavin and AAU teammate Peyton Broughton share a few offers.  WKU, EKU, Toldeo, and Southeast Missouri have all offered both.  They kind of play the same position.  Lovan is more of a combo guard, while Broughton definitely projects as a college off-guard.

Broughton will likely wind up lower-tier SEC or ACC by this time next year.  Lovan will get to decide between countless OVC, MAC, and potentially MVC offers.  Perhaps he will add on a few high-majors too.

Lovan will be tough to evaluate during the high school campaign.  He plays for Franklin Simpson High School, a relatively invisible program in rural Kentucky.

For Lovan the next AAU season will mean everything.  Fortunately, he already has a Southeast Missouri offer to provide the foundation for his recruitment.

UPDATE:  According to Zach Greenwell of Bowling Green Daily News, “on the first day of The Hilltoppers were at the home of the 2017 guard out of nearby Franklin-Simpson High School at midnight Wednesday (September 9th) as coaches became able to make in-home visits, according to Lovan’s father.”

Murray State offered Lovan September 25th.
