Late Find Likely for OVC Teams
Many of the OVC signees elected their eventual college home in April, or at least signed N.L.I.’s during that Late Signing Period.
Which players might play through their senior seasons uncommitted and POSSIBLY ultimately select an OVC program?
Deontae Davis (Cleveland High) —
The 2018 shooting guard earned All-District twice, All-Region twice and Player of the Week thrice.
Both Walter State and Columbia State already offered Deontae. Southeast Missouri, Tennessee Tech, Alcorn State, Lipscomb, Lincoln Memorial, Carson-Newman, University of Montevallo, and many more schools are interested.
Tennessee Tech has a verbal commitment from 0ne guard in Caden Mills and they are interested in adding at least another guard in 2018.

Here are a few Deontae Davis highlights.
Steven Fitzgerald (Pulaski County) —
Steven Fitzgerald (Pulaski County, KY) has the talent to play OVC basketball, maybe higher, but his offer list right now is probably unsatisfying to his extremely supportive family. At one time Fitzgerald had an N.C. State offer and Louisville interest, but the Wolfpack fired Mark Gottfried and Louisville moved on.
Because his aspirations are high-major Fitzgerald might play out his entire senior season to audition for HM scouts. It might work. It might not. Expect teams like Tennessee Tech, Southeast Missouri, Eastern Kentucky to hover around all winter.
Probable competitors for Fitzgerald’s signature will be Western Kentucky, Samford, or any ACC/SEC school.
All Austin Peay Recruits
The Governors have in place a couple of recruiting juggernauts, but the new staff had few ties to the area or the level. Look for them to build a network of coaches and players in the OVC area and sign at least two, probably three in the spring.
