Kinchen Names SIUE Leader

Late Monday night, Daniel Kinchen (Alabama Southern CC) labeled SIUE the leader in his recruitment.

Why?

“Good relationship with the coaches and I feel like it’s a good situation for me,” shared Kinchen.

This season Kinchen averaged 19.5 ppg, scoring over 20 points 15 times.  In fact, Daniel Kinchen recorded a 35 point game (10-15 three-pointers) against Enterprise State in January.

Alabama Southern CC finished the successful season 23-10 and won the Alabama Community College Conference South (ACCC) with a 13-1 division record.  Kinchen was named Player of the Year.

Jackson State, Texas Southern, and SIUE are actionable offers.

Background

Junior College guard Daniel Kinchen played high school basketball Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia.  For AAU, Kinchen played with the Georgia Tornadoes.

According to Daniel Kinchen, “most of them (are) playing D1 or juco.”

The 6-foot-3 guard will add outside shooting to whichever team he selects.

Kinchen sounds like he is nearing the finish line.

“No more visits,” said Kinchen. “(I) haven’t planned a day to sign on.”

The first SIUE coach to identify Kinchen’s promising play was Assistant Coach Tarrance Crump.  Before Coach Crump started for Purdue, he began his college career in the same JuCo conference (ACCC) as Kinchen.  Coach Crump played for Shelton State.
