Hollander Visiting Austin Peay

Saturday Caleb Hollander (Nashville, TN) will swoop by Austin Peay for an unofficial visit.

The Class of 2017 forward just experienced a significant uptick in his recruitment.  Hollander is  basketball dodo, in that the imminently-talented combo forward was almost completely unknown by college coaches deep into his high school career.  In this age of hyper-hype and massive youth sports coverage, Hollander has largely been overlooked.

Home-schooled in Nashville, Hollander competes with Nashville Central Christian High School.  Hollander was Class of 2016 until last summer.  Due to a family health crisis Hollander elected to reclass and spend more time at home before college.

College basketball is in his future, but he decided to devote 2016 completely to his family.

New Love

Hollander truly only sparked interest in Nashville until this May.  Lipscomb Head Coach Casey Alexander offered him last year.

After April a full game highlight video of Hollander hit the internet and college coaches pounced.

In a single 24-hour period he and his family took 11 calls from college coaches, ranging from the West Coast to nearby OVC programs.

Caleb will visit Austin Peay June 4th.  Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Boise State and possibly Utah will host Hollander mid-June.

Utah Utes Associate Head Coach invited Caleb to Utah’s Elite Camp, so he might compete for a scholarship there.

The wave of interest does not stop there.

Pepperdine, Santa Clara, SMU, Oral Roberts, North Texas, Richmond, Wright State, Appalachian State, and Old Dominion all want him to visit.  Also, three Ivy League schools are sniffing around.

June will be a big month for Caleb, as he attempts to turn the surge of interest into a slew of D1 offers.
