Golden Eagles Target Setting Official Visits

Class of 2017 point guard Iziah James (Virginia Beach, VA) intends to narrow his recruiting scope shortly.

“I am setting (official visits) up within the next two days,” said James to OVCHoops.com.

Considering he earned his seventh offer Thursday morning, James’ options for official visits are relatively few: Grambling State, Alcorn State, Tennessee Tech, Portland, Georgia Southern, UMES, SIUC.

This is purely a guess, but UMES offered in December of 2015, so their offer probably lapsed by now.  Also, SIUC has two point guards on the roster.  If they haven’t pulled their offer, they remain an unattractive option for an incoming freshman point guard.

Tennessee Tech is still in pursuit.  Signing another young guard helps with backcourt depth.

Aleksa Jugovic, Conner Hall (walk-on), and Stephaun Adams return for TTU in the backcourt.

The Golden Eagles have signed 2017 G Hunter Vick, who operated on the ball in high school.  He has the athleticism and height to play either guard position.

TTU is also looking at signing Corey Tillery (GA) to this scholarship vacated by Savonte Frazier.
