EKU Adds Assistant Coach

After EKU “let go of Michael Bradley” their staff needed to hire someone new.

Coach Ryan Whalen has joined the staff as a full-time assistant coach.  Coach Whalen was DBO at Seton Hall last winter.

“I am thrilled to welcome Ryan and his family to our EKU basketball family,” said EKU Head Coach Dan McHale.  “I have worked with Ryan for four years at Seton Hall and Iona, and he is as passionate about mentoring student-athletes and coaching basketball as anyone I have ever been around.”

Coach McHale heads into his second season at the helm with high expectations.  The first two recruiting classes are strong, and he continues to add impressive high-major transfers.  With Nick Mayo on the squad they will always compete for OVC crowns.

Assistant Coach Whalen will expand the brand into the Northeast somewhat.  His ties are strongest in New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.

Coach McHale labeled him a “rising star in this business.”
