Chidi Recaps UT Martin Official
Over the weekend UT Martin hosted their first official visitor of the fall in Juco guard Chidi Udengwu.
“I got there in the day time (Friday) around like one o’clock,” said Chidi Udengwu. “We pretty much toured the school, looked at the gym and all that.”
Chidi was given a tour of campus. This was his first time in Martin, Tennessee. For a California kid it was probably a culture shock.
“The campus is nice,” said Udengwu. “The school is really nice. For a college in Tennessee I would say it was more than I expected.”
The 6-foot-6 point guard returned to Los Angeles Sunday afternoon still uncommitted. He thinks he will talk the visit over with his coaches and parents.
Don’t expect a decision this week.
“I told them I am going to talk to my family about it,” said Chidi Udengwu. “Sometimes it works out in your favor. But that is what life is. You have to roll the dice.”
It sounds like Udengwu would like to play out his full sophomore season and attempt to attract more D1 offers.
UT Martin spotted Chidi at a junior college player showcase in Dallas. Maybe more college coaches will admire his game at the helm of SBVC this winter.
What is next for Chidi Udengwu?
“I am supposed to be visiting Louisiana-Monroe next weekend,” said Udengwu. “UT Martin was my first visit. It was really cool.”
When he does ultimately pick his second college (after San Bernadino Valley College) Chidi will lean on the advice and support from “my mom and dad and my two coaches.”
