Center adds Austin Peay offer
Monday evening Chris Vogt got the phone call he wanted. Austin Peay decided to offer him a full scholarship for basketball.
“They were going to talk to me about it after camp,” said Vogt. “I thought had a good showing. I had the Samford Camp Saturday. I was a little tired.”
After camp Vogt and about twenty other recruits were taken around campus for a tour. Vogt really liked the campus and enjoyed competing in the competitive camp too.
Vogt has been a familiar face around the region for a couple years. Vanderbilt hosted him for camp two years ago. Western Kentucky University and Middle Tennessee offered him early (2014). This summer marks his last non-HS push for prominence.
The WKU offer lapsed when the previous staff was ousted. Vogt’s major offers now include Northern Kentucky University, Ball State, and Austin Peay.
Samford Camp Saturday might allude to another D1 offer on the horizon.
“I thought I did good,” said Vogt. “I hit a lot of outside shots, which I have been working on extending my range.”
Vogt claims Indiana State and Samford as two schools pushing. Either could be the next offer added. In July, Vogt will run with Louisville Magic 17u. This team gives him several big opportunities to show out, as they are very visible throughout the Midwest.
“Next week I am going to Top 100 Camp,” said Vogt. “I will try to get a few more college visits in.”
BONUS: Austin Peay also offered Hunter Vick (TN) and Javan Johnson (AL) coming out of Elite Camp Sunday, per families.
