Belmont to Evaluate Potter

Next week Belmont Assistant Coach Brian Ayers will evaluate Class of 2018 G Skyelar Potter.

“They will be in next week looking at him,” said Warren Central Head Coach William Unseld.  “Western (Kentucky) is recruiting him.  Mississippi State is doing some stuff with him.”

Potter is a 6-foot-3 strong, athletic guard.  According to Coach Unseld, Potter is “one of the most athletic kids we have had at Warren Central, and that is saying something.”

“He is also a kid that is new to basketball,” said Coach Unseld.  “He didn’t start playing until his seventh grade year.  He came as a freshman and grew.”

Coach William Unseld credits the athleticism and rebounding prowess of Potter for attracting college looks.

“One thing he has always been able to do is rebound,” said Coach Unseld.  “He is so athletic and the coaches love how he rebounds.”

Potter’s shooting surely attracted Belmont.

“He hit 10 3’s, broke a school record,” said Coach Unseld.  “He shot 40% and he didn’t get many open looks after Christmas.  We had two starters go out with injuries.  He shot 43% from 3.”

Potter will run with WKY Elite 17u this spring.  AAU performances matter greatly in the recruitment of basketball players.

Belmont will evaluate him Tuesday April 18th, days before the LIVE period opens.
