Rarely do colleges wrap up their recruiting class by November. The Early Signing Period generally sees 75% of the commitments, but most teams need to work through the winter to get that last piece.
Even less common is a mid-major program completing their class by November. Last week Belmont accepted their fourth verbal commitment of the Class of 2017.
It was a big piece to the puzzle.
Ohioan Nick Muszynski (Saint Charles Prep) announced his commitment on Twitter.
Muszynski earned recognition as the 5th best player in Central Ohio, per 270Hoops.com.
You can watch a highlight package of Nick.
Muszynski joins Grayson Murphy, DeAndre Bradshaw, and Caleb Hollander in the recruiting class of 2017.
“Nick’s commitment is a huge finalization for our class,” said Bradshaw. “Many people believe it to be the best class Byrd’s ever had.”
Both Bradshaw and Hollander were rapidly ascending into HM status when they verbally committed. Muszynski already boasted offers from Wright State, Air Force, UNC-Asheville, Stony Brook, and Niagara.
“He gives us another big/long body at 6’10, he brings great shot blocking ability, and he can stretch out and shoot from 15 feet and out as well as bang down low on the block,” said Bradshaw. “We’re all extremely excited to get a chance to come together and surprise a lot of people the next few years.”
